Lover's Leap
Calling all you single ladies out there….. February 29th is upon us and Irish legend of the Leap Year states that it’s acceptable for a maiden to propose to the man she loves! (He doesn’t have to say yes though!) According to an old Irish legend, St Brigid struck a deal with St Patrick to allow women to propose to men (and not just the other way around) every four years. In the United States, it’s known as Sadie Hawkins Day!
This means that if you miss out on your proposal this 29th of February, then you have to wait another 4 years, that’s another 1,460 days! So if you have a man in your life that just isn’t getting the hints (wedding magazines all over, Tiffany's catalogues etc), then surprise him and take control of the situation. That's what Women Empowerment is all about n'est pas?
HOW TO POP THE QUESTION
Here are a few options of the perfect way to ‘pop the question’:

Just throw a pre engagement engagement party and tell him to turn up. Hopefully he will get the hint and propose so you don’t have to in front of all his friends!

Keep it simple and ask him over brunch or a romantic setting!

THE MANs ENGAGEMENT 'RING'
Diamonds are a girls best friend and it’s that engagement ring that most ladies aim for….. but for the guy… it’s the watch! A Rolex, AP, Patek Phillip – he has to say yes with one of these. Note the investment will be worth it in the long run

WHAT IF HE SAYS 'NO'
Great news- it’s a win win! In some places, leap day has been known as ‘Bachelors’ Day’ for the same reason. A man was expected to pay a penalty such as a gown or money, if he refused a marriage proposal from a woman on Leap Day. In many European countries, tradition dictates that any man who refuses a woman’s proposal on February 29 has to buy her 12 pairs of gloves, intention being to hide the embarrassment of not having an engagement ring.
