The Biggest Trends from Fashion Week Men's
As the men’s autumn-winter 2018 shows draw to a close, we round up the key trends to know from Milan, London and Paris.
Statement Jumpers

Following the more-is-more theme of autumn-winter 2018, knitwear is anything but understated this season. Many designs on the catwalk took their cues from sportswear with labels such as AMI and Hermès presenting bold V and ski-inspired intarsias. Colour and playful patterns, meanwhile, came thick and fast at Acne.
Belted leather coats

A leather jacket is always in style but this season it comes in a luxe new guise. Missoni presented knee-length cuts belted at the waist, while Prada styled utility jackets open over oversized shirts and shorts. John Lawrence Sullivan, however, took its cues straight from the Matrix with floor-length coats paired with dark glasses and blue denim.
Wild West

Designers looked to the Wild West for autumn-winter 2018 with plaid outerwear, pointed, heavy-heeled boots and python print appearing across the runways. The key to this look is in not making it too literal – take styling tips from Astrid Andersen and give oversized checked coats and cowboy hats a streetwear edge with hoodies and technical sportswear.
Modern Pinstripes

This season, classic pinstripes shake off their corporate connotations and re-emerge with a cool new attitude. Off/White’s Virgil Abloh described his suiting as ‘Business Casual’ styling tailored trousers with slouchy sweatshirts and suede boots. Alexander McQueen however, gave two-piece suits a punk edge with chunky worker boots and coats tied at the waist.
Oversized Checks

This season checks come supersized and in a variety of designs - from plaid and tartan, to windowpane and Prince of Wales, there’s a print for every taste. Whether you opt for a check in subtle tones as seen at Kenzo, or in bold Versace technicolor, style them head to toe for the most modern result.
