London: Hayward Gallery

Andreas Gursky

After two years of being closed for refurbishment, London’s Hayward Gallery has just reopened its doors and we couldn’t be more excited. Photographer Andreas Gursky sets a high standard for things to come with his huge scale landscape photographs that put a spotlight on consumerism and mass production. The exhibition runs until the 22nd of April, so don’t miss out.


Paris: The Palais Galliera

Martin Margiela Retrospective

Following 2017’s revered Balenciaga exhibition, the Palais Galliera fashion museum in Paris is dedicating a major retrospective to Martin Margiela. The exhibition, curated by Olivier Saillard, will delve into the life and work of the elusive designer from spring-summer 1989 to spring-summer 2009. Don’t miss the chance to see some of the designer’s most signature pieces, alongside rare interviews and archive work. The retrospective opens in March 2018.

Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination

The Met’s Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination is set to be one of the most hotly anticipated exhibitions of the year. Exploring the dialogue between fashion and religious artworks, over 150 ensembles will be on display to the public including works from Coco Chanel, John Galliano and papal robes and accessories from the Sistine Chapel sacristy – some never seen before outside the Vatican. The exhibition opens on May the 10th and runs until October the 8th 2018.


Marrakesh: La Mamounia

Contemporary African Art Fair

The launch of 1-54's inaugural edition in Marrakech, Morocco is set to be one of the highlights of 2018. Held between the 24th and 25th February, the exhibition will take place at La Mamounia and will showcase 17 leading galleries from Africa and around the world. The event will feature a stellar program of talks and events in partnership with local institutions and welcome over 60 international artists.

Held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts, Shanghai, the exhibition features fashion, video art, and installation works spanning the publication's 150 years. The exhibition looks to highlight how BAZAAR has both shaped and been shaped by the trends of its time and is not to be missed.  The exhibition runs until March the 11th 2018.
